Mobius for Mobile Data Communications

MOBIUS is a software program that runs on a Windows terminal (such as a laptop or tablet PC) and links to a DataGate IP router over a choice of wireless networks including satellite and terrestrial. Mobius, with its real-time wireless communications link, provides two-way text messaging with the base office, plus on-screen GPS navigation with location data relayed to one or more base computers. Other on-board programs process data such as field reports or freight manifests can be sent as e-mail file attachments via Mobius.

DATA ROUTING OPTIONS

Mobius connects over the selected network to a DataGate IP router. This software can be located on end-users computers or hosted by our resellers or Datalink Systems Inc.

LONE FIELD WORKER (safety and communication)

Mobius and BGAN provides the field workers with real-time two-way text messaging and file transfers. It also provides a high level of safety with an F-key trigger to send an emergency message with GPS location. The emergency alert will also be relayed by the DataGate router to monitoring desks or text to cell-phones.

IN-CAB NAVIGATION

Mobius software provides drivers with live on-screen navigation where the total route is displayed with the various stops/start times reported. The driver's screen receives GPS updates every few seconds. The same GPS information can be displayed on the dispatcher's screen with updates based on programmed settings.

MULTI-NETWORK OPERATION (typical application)

Mobius allows the use of multiple networks with automatic selection. As an example, if the vehicle travels outside the local wireless network coverage area, Mobius will switch automatically to satellite if a satellite transceiver is attached.

Our back-end system is based on our well proven DataGate. DataGate connects to the various wireless networks selected to allow two-way communications with the remote assets. DataGate also routes data to one or more DataHosts which are installed in the Dispatchers' workstations, allowing the dispatchers to have two-way text messaging with the drivers and to track locations on a digital Map.
